Music Lessons

Stu Tyrrell is a classical guitarist, vocalist, and dedicated music educator who is passionate about helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. With more than five years of teaching experience, he works with students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to those preparing for examinations and performances. By tailoring lessons to each student's goals, interests, and learning style, Stu creates a supportive environment where students can build skills while enjoying the process of making music.

 

Stu believes that music education should develop the whole musician, not just technical ability. Drawing on his experience teaching both guitar and voice, as well as his training in AMEB and Suzuki pedagogies, he helps students build strong foundations in technique, musicianship, artistic expression, and performance confidence. His student-centred approach encourages curiosity, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation of music.

 

Committed to ongoing growth as both a performer and educator, Stu is currently completing a Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music while undertaking Suzuki Teacher Training. An award-winning classical guitarist, he has received national recognition through the Australian Celtic Music Awards New Celtic Talent Award and the Gulgong Folk Festival Guitar Competition. His active performing career enriches his teaching, providing students with practical insights into preparation, performance, and artistic development.​
